The U of M is a nationally and internationally recognized “Human Rights University” with research, curriculum, and outreach work across numerous disciplines and degree programs. The Human Rights Program is a hub of interdisciplinary research, teaching, and outreach in the field of human rights. International human rights is, by its very nature, an interdisciplinary subject, engaging many fields of academic study including the humanities, law, social sciences, public policy, business, education, and public health. The University of Minnesota Human Rights Library houses one of the largest collections of more than sixty thousand core human rights documents, including several hundred human rights treaties and other primary international human rights instruments.
