Academics
The University of Amsterdam (UvA) offers a wide variety of English-taught courses. Learn more about the classes offered in the University of Amsterdam online course catalog. You can find additional information about the various faculties and admission requirements in the Courses and Faculty Criteria Guide.
Students may enroll for a full course load within Amsterdam University College (AUC), a college within UvA that offers a small-scale and intensive, international Liberal Arts and Sciences program. This interdisciplinary program focuses on far-reaching themes and real-world problems in science and society. Learn more about being an exchange student at AUC.
Students are admitted to a specific faculty (department), and may only register for courses within their chosen faculty. If you would like to take courses outside of the faculty you applied to, you will have to discuss this with the study adviser of your accepting faculty. You will be given contact details of your academic adviser in your acceptance letter.
You must register for a minimum of 13 credits per term. You receive resident credit for the courses you take, your grades factor into your University of Minnesota GPA and each course appears on your transcript with an A/F grade. See the Grade & Credit Conversion Scale for more details.
NOTE: Students are not able to take courses from both UvA and AUC. Applicants must indicate on the initial application if they are applying for UvA or AUC.

After the application deadline, the GO Minnesota selection committee will review applications and nominate finalists within 2 weeks. If nominated, you will be assigned a confirmation checklist, which you will complete to confirm your participation in the program.
Nominated students will be required to complete the University of Amsterdam's application. UvA will make the final acceptance decision. More information on this will be sent to nominated students.
If at any point you decide not to continue with the application process, log into the Education Abroad application system and submit a cancellation request.
