Students Make Connections Despite COVID-19

GO Minnesota hosted two exchange students this fall who managed to get to the U.S. despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

It certainly wasn't a normal semester, with many classes online and social distancing preventing large in-person events. But Vincent Lewicki (pictured right) and Sascha Garson, both from Montpellier, France, still made meaningful connections with their fellow students.

"I thought 'Minnesota nice' was just a kind of legend but I think it's true," Sascha said. "Most people are very friendly here."

It was Vincent's first time in Minnesota. He fell in love with the large modern campus and its location along the Mississippi River. He said he will always remember the magnificent fall colors.
